News just surfacing this morning is that the White House (Yeah that Obama dude in Washington DC) has relaunched their website but this time on Drupal.
Over the past year a number of large corporations have switched over to Drupal but this surely trumps any other announcement. Joomla, suck on this!
The Washington Post broke the news stating:
A programming overhaul of the White House's Web site has set the tech world abuzz. For low-techies, it's a snooze - you won't notice a thing...
"We want to improve the tools used by thousands of people who come to WhiteHouse.gov to engage with White House officials, and each other, in meaningful ways," Phillips said.
It's also a nod to Obama's pledge to make government more open and transparent. Aides joked that it doesn't get more transparent than showing the world a code that their Web site is based on.
So if the security of Drupal is okay for the US government you can bet your bottom dollar it will be for your site too. What a great selling point to my clients: “I'm going to build your website using Drupal CMS. It is the same Content Management System as used for the website of the White House in the United States”.
